The Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16 offers players an exciting way to track down dangerous creatures scattered across Valisthea for valuable rewards. Among these bounties is the C-Rank Notorious Mark known as the Soul Stingers, which presents a unique multi-enemy challenge for players progressing through the campaign. Understanding where to find this group and how to manage their coordinated attacks makes completing this hunt smooth and straightforward.
Unlocking the Soul Stingers Bounty
To access the Soul Stingers hunt, players must first unlock the bounty on the Hunt Board during the main scenario quest titled Out of the Shadow. Once this story threshold is reached, the mark becomes available to view alongside several other mid-game bounties. Players can inspect the board at the Hideaway to read the lore description before setting out into the field.
Unlike solitary boss monsters, this target consists of a swarm of level 32 insectoid vilekin that fight together as a collective unit. Because they lack a traditional stagger bar, tactics must be adjusted compared to typical single-target encounters. Taking time to prepare proper Eikonic abilities beforehand will save significant time during combat.
Where to Find the Soul Stingers Location
The Soul Stingers are located within the Dhalmekian Republic in a secluded area known as the Empty Hovel. The most efficient path to reach them is by fast traveling to the nearby obelisk at The Jaw or the village of Tabor. From there, head toward the eastern portion of the Fields of Corava.
Navigate into the open, abandoned clearing located just east of the main ruins in the Fields of Corava. As Clive approaches the back corner of this open field, the group of glowing wasps will spawn directly ahead. The location is open and spacious, giving players plenty of room to maneuver and keep track of the targets.
Combat Strategies for Defeating the Swarm
Fighting the Soul Stingers requires focus because all five creatures attack simultaneously as a coordinated group. Their most dangerous maneuver occurs when their stingers glow bright red, signaling a rapid sequence of lunges that can lock Clive in place if not dodged properly. Keeping all insects within line of sight prevents unexpected off-screen strikes.
Using Eikonic abilities that isolate individual targets works best against this flying group. Garuda's Deadly Embrace is extremely effective for pulling single wasps down into melee range for rapid blade combos. Alternatively, wide area-of-effect abilities can damage multiple insects at once to reduce the swarm's overall offensive potential quickly.
Soul Stingers Hunt Rewards
Defeating all five insects completes the hunt immediately without needing to return to the board first. The direct rewards for finishing the battle include 5,500 Gil and 10 Renown points to boost Clive's reputation. Players also receive experience points and ability points to help upgrade Eikonic skills.
In addition to currency and experience, the mark drops valuable crafting materials such as Magicked Ash, Sharp Fangs, and Bloody Hides. These materials are essential for upgrading equipment at Blackthorne's forge back at the Hideaway. Completing this C-Rank mark provides a reliable boost in resources for the main journey ahead.
